Why we are here

The Hope Service supports people who are seeking asylum and refugees. After traumatic events people may experience different problems including:

-          Flashbacks (when it feels like the trauma is happening again)

-          Nightmares and difficulties with sleep

-          People can feel scared or upset. They may feel its their fault.

How we can help

In the Hope Service we help people to find ways to manage their distress following trauma. This may be by joining a Moving on After Trauma group, where people learn skills for example to improve sleep or manage flashbacks.  We also offer one to one therapy.  We always use interpreters if needed.

Community work

Mental health support workers work with people in various community settings, helping signpost to all kinds of support within the community.
