The STEPs Eating Disorders community team provides compassionate and evidence-based care to adults in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, with a suspected or confirmed eating disorder diagnosis. 

If you, or the person you care for, are referred to our service, our team provides:  

  • assessment, liaison and consultation work  

  • psychiatric review  

  • weekly review clinic  

  • intensive support  

  • specialist dietetic support and consultation 

  • psychological interventions  

  • occupational therapy  

  • friends and family group  

  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) transition work  

  • severe and enduring eating disorders (SEED) pathway  

  • perinatal pathway 

If you are concerned that you, or the person you care for, may have an eating disorder, contact your GP for advice. Your GP may decide to refer you directly to our service or to SWEDA who support individuals with a diagnosis of Binge Eating Disorder on behalf of STEPS.

For young people transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) eating disorder services, the transition process starts 6 months ahead of their 18th birthday.
