What is IN-CS?

IN-CS will launch in April 2025 and will provide non-custodial criminal justice interventions across Avon Somerset and Wiltshire. It will support individuals from point of arrest through the police, courts and back out into the community.

When someone is suspected of having committed a criminal offence and they have a vulnerability they can be referred to the IN-CS service and they will be supported to access the most appropriate interventions and services to assist them and to prevent future offending.

What will IN-CS do?

Providing a trauma informed responsive service that is sensitive to an individual’s situation and experiences and improve the quality of their lives. IN-CS will work collaboratively with individuals to ensure that their voice is central and wherever possible, are fully involved in managing their care, with a focus on working with them.

In addition it will encourage ownership of health by providing high quality and relevant information to enable individuals to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills required to make informed decisions and are enabled to self-refer to community services.

Who is involved?

IN-CS is in partnership with Developing Health & Independence, Somerset Foundation Trust, Turning Point and The Nelson Trust.
