What is Research Delivery Performance?
We closely follow the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) guidelines for ‘research delivery performance’ for NHS research.
Research delivery performance aims to measure the effective delivery and support of clinical trials in NHS services by:
- Understanding how quickly services are recruiting patients to clinical trials.
- Reviewing their recruitment against contractual agreements.
Why does it matter?
Research delivery performance information is collected across all organisations supporting the delivery of clinical trials. This allows organisations to compare how well they are doing against other organisations in their area, allowing them to collaborate and share best practice to increase the number of patients participating in research. This also helps identify AWP and the local area as an appealing place to host and deliver research.
