Following a CQC inspection of our forensic inpatient and secure wards in January 2024, the CQC has now published a final report.

New National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines (NICE) were published in September 2022 around the prevention and management of suicide and self-harm. At the time of publication, many Mental Health Trust’s around the country were engaging in practices that were not in line with NICE guidelines around risk assessment i.e. using global risk stratification (rating risk as low/medium or high), including AWP.

Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP) NHS Trust is encouraging individuals to engage in open and honest discussions about suicide and suicidal behaviour as part of world suicide prevention day.

The ‘Crossed the Line’ campaign is led by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust to raise awareness of its Gambling Service, launched across the South West last year.
