The Winter 2024 edition of the Working Together newsletter has been published.

Co-produced by patients, service users, their family, friends, staff and carers at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP), the newsletter aims to highlight the benefits of working together to collaborate and create improved mental health services for all.

Guest edited by Angelina McClelland, a lived experience representative at AWP, this edition includes a spotlight on Working Therapeutically on Wards, a project which aims to enhance the therapeutic skills of inpatient staff; an article about green social prescribing; and an interview with an AWP staff member talking about research they're working on. There's also a selection of art from service users, a recipe and much more.

At AWP, we aim to ensure that all voices are heard and considered in the planning and decision-making. By working together, the services become more aligned to service user and carers’ needs and the outcomes for people’s health and wellbeing will improve.

Printed copies of the new edition can now be found in reception areas and waiting rooms of AWP units, but you can also download the latest edition from the co-production section of the AWP website. Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy or feel your office should have some printed copies, please email awp.patientexperienceteam@nhs.net.

The next edition will be out in early March. If you've got any stories or news you would like us to include, or co-production projects to highlight, or you'd like to be involved in producing the next edition, please let us know at: awp.patientexperienceteam@nhs.net.
