Our Trust Board meets in public every 2 months where our overall performance against our strategic aims are monitored and discussed. Board responds to questions raised by the public and will also invite a patient to share their experiences in one of our services.
In our Febrary meeting we heard about the value of holistic treatment, our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and the range of initiatives we're planning to improve the experience for our staff.
Our Chair, Paul Miller, has provided a brief summary and you can also view all the papers and reports here. Find out more about our Board or to submit a question for our next public meeting in April here.
Question from the public
At our latest Trust Board meeting we were asked about our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact. Here is our response:
The AWP Board is fully committed to the organisation reducing its carbon footprint and ultimately to achieving the wider net zero target. While we recognise there is much more to do, we are pleased to have seen introduced a number of initiatives towards achieving those objectives, including:
- the installation of solar panels on many of our hospitals and community sites
- the complete replacement of lighting with energy efficient LED bulbs
- the rollout of new recycling bins
- a significant increase in Green prescribing.
The Board will continue to receive reports on the efforts of the Trust in reducing its carbon footprint through the Digital and Estates Committee, and the Annual Report will continue to report on our carbon footprint.
The Board would like to thank members of the Trust’s Climate and Emergency Action Group for their ongoing commitment and leadership of this issue and is grateful for bringing their questions and concerns to us.
