For Mental Health Nurses Day, AWP would like to thank all of our hard-working nurses.
Since its launch in 2019, Mental Health Nurses Day helps shine a light on the profession and raise awareness of it.
To mark the occasion, on Wednesday February 21, we asked AWP mental health nurses working across our locations what they love about the job.
Answers included “because every day is different and brings new challenges", “because I love helping people every day, especially people from my community" and “because I enjoy helping people and one day I might need a little help myself".
At AWP, hardworking teams of mental health nurses are making a difference and improving lives every day.
They strive to provide high-quality care, to help everyone using our services feel safe, involved in decisions about their care and assured that our staff are focused on their recovery.
Sarah Jones, Director of Nursing and Quality, said: “To celebrate Mental Health Nurses Day, we're thanking all of our mental health nurses for the tireless way that they use their skills, their experience, their professionalism and their positivity to improve the lives of our service users.
“Being a mental health nurse is a really challenging role, but the rewards are what makes it all worthwhile, providing outstanding care, every day, for our service users.
“So please, join me in thanking all of our mental health nurses today."
