Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is the primary provider of the Op Courage Integrated Veterans Mental Health Wellbeing Service.

The service can support anyone who has served in the UK armed forces community regardless of length of time served, rank or reason for leaving. We cover the areas of Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Cornwall and The Isles Of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, and Somerset.

Op Courage can help with common problems like anxiety, depression and substance misuse, as well as more advanced mental health conditions and psychological trauma. It can also help address other issues that may be affecting someone’s wellbeing, such as housing, finances and relationships.

Remembrance Day is a day to reflect on the service of our armed forces, and remember all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our communities.

Kate Purser, Service Lead for Op Courage in the South West said: “Op Courage, offers mental health and wellbeing support to those in need, providing specialist assessment, short term interventions and treatment pathways.”

“We recognise that Remembrance Sunday, in addition to the ongoing conflict in the world today, may be particularly difficult for those who have served and their families and would like to remind them that Op Courage is available for them should they need us. Referrals can be made via 0300 034 9986 or email to mevs.mhm@nhs.net".

Self-referral to the service can be made, or a family member, friend or GP can contact Op Courage on your behalf.
