The first edition of a new co-production newsletter has been published.

The new Working Together Newsletter has been co-produced by patients, service users, their family, friends, staff and carers at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP).

The newsletter aims to highlight the benefits of working together to collaborate and create improved mental health services for all – as well as being an interesting and fun read.

The first edition has been guest edited by Helen Edwards, a lived experience representative at AWP. She said: “I am proud to support the trust as someone with lived experience of using their services. I strive to ensure that equity, diversity, and inclusion informs the projects that I work on and all the conversations that I have within the trust. Most importantly to me, I know that my contribution, and that of my peers, is making a positive difference to new and returning patients and service users as they experience the trust’s services.”

At AWP, we aim to ensure that all voices are heard and considered in the planning and decision making. By working together, the services become more aligned to service user and carers’ needs and the outcomes for people’s health and wellbeing will improve.

Printed copies of the current edition of the newsletter are now available for visitors to read in reception areas of AWP units, but you can also download the latest edition from the co-production section of the AWP website.
