Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust who run the talking therapy service across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) is encouraging students to look after their wellbeing during exams results time and are providing a number of resources to help.

Awaiting exam results can be very stressful for students and their families. The stress associated with these kinds of feelings can result in physical symptoms, such as stomach ache, increased heart rate and nausea, and can then lead to changes in behaviour.

If you or someone you know is feeling stressed or anxious at this time, there are self-help guides available here.

If the results you receive are not what you were expecting, there are always other alternatives available. The National Careers Service has an exam results helpline where you can speak to a professionally qualified careers advisor. The number to call is 0800 100 900. The helpline is open from 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday. You can also access ongoing support from the National Careers Service by visiting www.nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/contact-us or searching for the National Careers Service on social media.

BSW Talking Therapies service provides support for difficulties such as stress, anxiety or low mood. The NHS service is free and confidential for people who are 16+ and live and/or has a registered GP in the BSW area. You can also self-refer to the service by calling BaNES on 01225 675150, Swindon on 01793 836836 or Wiltshire on 01380 731335.
