For a third consecutive year the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust has been recognised for its approach and progress to diversity and inclusion, achieving a gold standard TIDE award 2024, awarded by the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (enei).

Enei TIDEMark is a diversity and inclusion benchmarking tool which looks at the whole organisation, including workforce, strategy, leadership, recruitment, training and communication. It measures how well an organisation is cultivating a positive and inclusive culture and allows the organisation to understand their current position in relation, and where to focus their efforts on areas that will have the greatest impact.

Out of 185 entries for the enei TIDE awards only 25 gold awards were given.

Sarah Constantine, Medical Director and Chair of the Trustwide Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Group said: “We are incredibly proud to be once again recognised by enei. This is testament to the work and support from our staff equity networks and our Equity Diversity and Inclusion Lead have been a key part of this work, and I thank them for the support, influence, constructive challenge and guidance they continue to give the Trust.

“As proud as we are, we know we must not be complacent, and acknowledge that we are on a journey and have several areas for improvements to make.”

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead Mayur Bhatt said: “I feel our approach to EDI is steadily making a positive impact in the organisation. It’s great to see an increasing number of teams and services getting in touch because they want explore EDI matters in reflective sessions, receive advice and initiate pieces of work that create a sense of belonging for our staff and to those who we support in our care. Our staff equity networks provide great spaces for people feeling that they can be their authentic selves – I am proud of that.”

Julian Feasby, Director for People said: “We want our Trust to be a great place to work. We aim to be an organisation that reflects the community around us and we recognise the strength, knowledge, and awareness diversity brings.

“This award is reflective of the ongoing work, peoples’ time, effort and dedication of our staff around the Trust. We will continue to strive for excellence in our EDI work”
