Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust provides a Talking therapy service across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) and for those accessing the service have access to free employment support.
The employment advisors across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) provide support to those experiencing any work-related issues or barriers to finding or returning to employment.
Providing early skills-based interventions, information and guidance, in addition to practical support to remain in, return to or find work, often supports good mental health.
Stress, anxiety and low mood can affect you at work and have a knock-on effect on your mental health. Similarly, being out of work can also affect your mental health as you are unable to reap the benefits of being in employment.
Nicola Coles, Employment Advisor for BSW Talking Therapies said: "Work can have a positive impact on our lives, whether it is paid work or volunteering, it can offer a sense of belonging, purpose and structure to our lives. There can be times however, when work is no longer providing what we need, and this can impact our mental health, alternatively our mental health may start to impact our work, or we want to return to work and just don’t know where to start. Your Employment Support Service is here to support you in whatever stage you are at".
If you feel that the Employment Support Service would benefit you, either ask your Talking Therapies practitioner for a referral to the Employment Support Service, or contact BSW Talking Therapies to get an initial clinical assessment booked in.
