A useful guide to south-west wellbeing groups and activities has been launched.
The Hope Guide was created to support adults who want to improve their wellbeing, but are unsure where to turn. Those who open it will find contact details for groups and services which can help improve their mental health and wellbeing. It’s aimed at those who are feeling socially isolated, or are affected by mental-health issues, substance misuse, or homelessness.
It was created by staff at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, St Mungo’s, Bath Mind and HCRG Care Group. Inside, you’ll find separate sections for “Health and wellbeing groups and activities”, “Organisations offering one-to-one support” and “Local and national helplines”. The Hope Guide has existed in various forms since 2011, often as a physical booklet, but there hadn’t been a new version for more than two years. The 67-page Hope Guide for Spring 2024 is available digitally and there are hopes that printed copies can also be made available this year.
Jo Woodsford, Service User and Carer Involvement Coordinator (BANES), said many talented people joined together to create it. “I’d like to offer a huge thanks to Carolyn Trippick, one of AWP’s service users, Greyam Crowl from HCRG, Ralph Lillywhite from St. Mungo’s and Dan Taylor from Bath Mind, who have all worked so hard to get this done.”
