Celebrating diversity: AWP recognised among the UK’s Top Inclusive Employers
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) has been named one of the UK’s top employers for diversity and inclusion, securing a place on the 2024/25 Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List (IT50). It highlights The Trust’s commitment to fostering a welcoming environment for both staff and the patients and families it serves.
As one of only three NHS Trusts on the list, this achievement reflects AWP’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Mayur Bhatt, AWP’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead said: “Being included in the list shows our commitment to creating a workplace culture where people can thrive, feel valued, empowered, connected and give their best in what they do in their work."
"It's important that we recognise that we have strength in our diversity and that we can be proud to work alongside our diverse staff, patients and communities to ensure mental health care is accessible, equitable and welcoming for all. Having previously been ranked 10th and now 25th, we see this as a reminder of the work still ahead and we remain determined in our commitment to continuous EDI improvement and meaningful change."
Paul Sesay, Founder and CEO of Inclusive Companies, praised the organisations on the list: “The IT50 List recognises employers whose culture ensures diversity and inclusion are embedded into everything they practice with the judges looking for organisations which show consistent activity and evidence of sustainable change.”
