AWP champions nurses wellbeing on Mental Health Nurses Day
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is marking Mental Health Nurses Day by highlighting this year's theme - the wellbeing of mental health nurses. Since the observance began in 2019, it has provided an opportunity to acknowledge the important role that mental health nurses play in improving the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
AWP is recognising the work of its mental health nurses and the importance of supporting their wellbeing and to mark the occasion, has produced a short video about how it's nursing staff maintain their own health and wellbeing while also caring for others
Sarah Jones, Director of Nursing and Quality at AWP, said: "We want to thank all of our Mental Health Nurses for their passion, kindness, courage, inclusion and commitment. Your unwavering dedication to providing compassionate care and support to those in need is truly inspiring. Each of you plays an essential role in improving the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges. We appreciate your continued efforts to promote a culture of wellbeing and resilience within our community."
AWP continues to emphasise the importance of nurse wellbeing, understanding that those who provide care must also have support to thrive in their roles.
